City of War: Mayor's Office
The City of War is structured and operates under the Strong-Mayor Plan specified in West Virginia Code. Chapter 8 of the
West Virginia Code, particularly §8-3-2 specifies the roles and responsibilities of the Mayor.

The Mayor is elected at large by the qualified voters of the City of War.

The Mayor is the administrative authority of City of War.

Officers and employees are appointed by the Mayor or by his order. However, appointments by the Mayor or by his order may be made subject to the approval of the Council.
