Town of Elizabeth Police Department

The Town of Elizabeth does not have a town police department. The Wirt County Sheriff's Office and the West Virginia State Police are empowered to enforce the law, protect property and reduce civil disorder in the Town of Elizabeth.

Elizabeth-Wirt Volunteer Fire Department

The fire department that is empowered to provide fire protection and first response services for the Town of Elizabeth is the Elizabeth-Wirt VFD. The Elizabeth-Wirt VFD also employs the services of other county VFDs to oversee the fire protection district that encompasses the Town of Elizabeth.

Wirt County Emergency Squad

Wirt County Emergency Squad is a branch of emergency services dedicated to providing out-of-hospital acute medical care and/or transport to definitive care, to patients with illnesses and injuries which the patient, or the medical practitioner, believes constitutes a medical emergency. The goal of the Wirt County Emergency Squad as it relates to Emergency Medical Services is to either provide treatment to those in need of urgent medical care, with the goal of satisfactorily treating the malady, or arranging for timely removal of the patient to the next point of definitive care.
