City of Keystone Police Department

The Keystone Police Department is empowered to enforce the law, protect property and reduce civil disorder in the City of Keystone. The Keystone Police Department is engaged in an array of activities, depending on the situation, but its predominant concern is the preservation of order. 

City of Keystone Fire Department

The fire department that is empowered to provide fire protection and first response services for the City of Keystone is the Keystone Fire Department. The Keystone Fire Department also employs the services of other county VFDs to oversee the fire protection district that encompasses the City of Keystone.

McDowell County Ambulance Authority

McDowell County Ambulance Authority is a branch of emergency services dedicated to providing out-of-hospital acute medical care and/or transport to definitive care, to patients with illnesses and injuries which the patient, or the medical practitioner, believes constitutes a medical emergency. The goal of the McDowell County Ambulance Authority as it relates to Emergency Medical Services is to either provide treatment to those in need of urgent medical care, with the goal of satisfactorily treating the malady, or arranging for timely removal of the patient to the next point of definitive care.
