The Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Department is empowered to provide fire protection and first response services for the City of Pennsboro. The Pennsboro Fire Department also employs the services ofother county VFDs to oversee the fire protection district that encompasses the City of Pennsboro.

Ritchie County Ambulance Services

Ritchie County Ambulance Services is a branch of emergency services dedicated to providing out-of-hospital acute medical care and/or transport to definitive care, to patients with illnesses and injuries which the patient, or the medical practitioner, believes constitutes a medical emergency. The goal of the Ritchie County Ambulance Services is to either provide treatment to those in need of urgent medical care, with the goal of satisfactorily treating the malady, or arranging for timely removal of the patient to the next point of definitive care.
